Under BRD project on capacity building of Afghan women led civil society organizations (CSO’s) in Advocacy and Monitoring of women rights, supported by the U.S Embassy Afghan Women Empowerment (AWE) grant program, the first round has been completed.

It took place form May 21 to 25, 2011 and it consisted of training in Advancing Afghan Women Advocacy and Leadership Skills, which involved 22 women leaders from the women led CSO’s of Kapisa and Panjsher provinces. The second round of the training will target 23 women leaders from women led civil society organizations form Kabul, Parwan and Wardak provinces and will be organized in the second week of June 2011.The main topics of the training focused on leadership, human rights monitoring and documentation, US system of human rights, shadow reporting, and media advocacy.After completion of the training program BRD will also provide follow support for the women led civil society through mentorship and technical support to effectively monitoring and advocate women rights in their respective provinces.
