Civic Education

The aim of the program is to provide sufficient knowledge and information on democracy and election to the women and men in the community in orders to ensure their active participation in the political and social activities in the society for to build foundation for sustained democracy in the country.

The removal of Taliban from power and establishment of interim administration on the basis of Bonn agreement opened the door for democracy in Afghanistan. The successful implementation of Loya Jerga, which selected the Transitional Government and also the successful implementation of constitutional Loya Jerga, which approved the new constitution for Afghanistan, and gave women equal rights with men. This has brought great opportunities to the women and men in Afghanistan to be engaged effectively in promoting Democracy their rights and human rights in order to prevent violence against women, gender inequality, and to struggle for empowerment in the society.

Activities: BRD is providing civic education to schoolteachers, women, youth, and also providing training on parliamentary training to the women candidates in Afghanistan.

Achievements: For enhancing the skill and knowledge of the men, women on democracy election in order to ensure the Participation of all segment of the society in democracy and the first democratic election in Afghanistan BRD has organized several Civic Education and election awareness workshops for women, Youth, in different part of the country has huge impact on the participation of women and men in the presidential Election in Afghanistan.

BRD is provided Civic Education to 300 women and men during the presidential election, 200 teachers and students and training for 50 women candidates for the parliamentary education.

Civil Society Trainings

BRD seeks to bring about a democratic alternative for Afghanistan that opposes violence and extremism and promotes the rebirth of civil society. We envision a society based on the rule of law, where participation by ordinary citizens, including women, can have an effect. Working across lines of ethnicity, gender and tribal affiliation, we are dedicated to the notion that political performance should be measured in terms of substantive improvements in people's lives. By forging direct links with scholars, experts and ordinary citizens, we hope to promote cross-cultural understanding so a unified Afghanistan can take its place in the community of nations.

Activities: BRD is providing civil Society training to the Youth association, women associations, and Teacher Associations in order enhance their skill and knowledge regarding democracy and role of the community organization in as keep watching the performance of the government in a Democratic society.

Achievements: BRD has organized training workshops for 60 CSO, s which the majority of these groups were youth and women associations also BRD has working on to extend the culture of volunteerism and increasing the sense of a responsible citizenships among the Youths which playing key role in promoting the democratic principle and development of viable civil society. Currently BRD utilizing the work of 30 Youth volunteers in different areas of the program.

Together with men, women will put the foundation of a democratic government in Afghanistan. BRD intends to conduct effective training workshops for women on these democratic and election principles.
